Every month my husband, John, and I hold a “Gratitude Challenge.” The rules are:
Everyday we have the chance to write down 3 specific things we are grateful for that day on a piece of paper and place it in a jar.
At the end of the month we pour all the pieces of paper out of our jars and recite our notes of gratitude aloud to one another. (This is my favorite part and the real reward because it is fun to recap our month and feel all of the love we have in our lives!)
Whoever has the most gratitude notes wins our challenge and gets to pick a fun activity for us to do together.
Yes, I am human and some days I forget to write my gratitude note. However, most days, it’s easy for me to write a note of gratitude, especially in the morning when I am feeling most optimistic. But sometimes I save my time to write my note until the end of the day when I am feeling less optimistic and need an extra boost to remind myself what I am most grateful for that day. This attitude of gratitude helps me feel happy, empowered and filled with love.
What are you grateful for? Do you feel inspired to try a gratitude challenge? Try this with a loved one, with your whole family or by yourself! Sharing your attitude of gratitude with those you love and yourself is the best prize of all! Let me know your thoughts below!
